Saving Grace: The Stories Behind the Big Words-with David Churchill

As Christians, we know our eternal life is secure because of what Christ accomplished for us on the cross. But can we clearly explain what, exactly, He has done?

Saving Grace is a 5-week class designed to bring fresh life to words that can sometimes feel academic—propitiation, expiation, atonement, redemption, and justification. Each of these terms is a vivid word-picture, giving us a multifaceted view of salvation and showing the profound relationship between our sin and God’s grace.

These lessons will deepen our personal worship, strengthen our ability to share the gospel, and even provide a helpful model for counseling.

 About David Churchill:

David Churchill studied at Northeastern Bible College in Essex Fells, New Jersey, alongside Pastor Tim—back when dinosaurs still roamed the earth. He later continued his education at both Biblical Seminary and Alliance Seminary in Nyack. David began ministry at Long Hill Chapel in Chatham before serving as pastor in four other churches in New York 3and Nebraska. His ministry has also taken him overseas, with teaching opportunities in India and East Africa being particular highlights. He is grateful for this forum to develop these lessons and prays they may one day grow into a published book.

Women of the Word -with Ilona Nagy

We all know it’s important to study God’s word. But sometimes it’s hard to know where to start. What’s more, a lack of time, emotionally driven approaches, and past frustrations can erode our resolve to keep growing in our knowledge of Scripture. How can we, as Christian women, keep our focus and sustain our passion when reading the Bible?  Over 10 weeks, we will read Jen Wilkin's Women of the Word book exploring components of studying God's Word. The book is structured around the "Five P's" of sound Bible study—Purpose, Perspective, Patience, Process, and Prayer—providing both theological insight and practical application. The book also equips women to study thoughtfully and confidently.  Join us on this journey together learning these tools, but more importantly applying them to our study in God's Word so that we may grow in our relationship with Him.

There is also a 5 week class being offered on Tuesday nights, starting 9/23 with Pastor Tim Chicola-Jonah: A Story of Sin and Grace.
