As part of our mission to serve the world, in 2016 we partnered with a church in Guatemala, called Iglesia Evangelica Central Monte Alto (Central Evangelical Church Monte Alto). The partnership exists through the World Orphans Church Partnership program to aid in the care of orphans and vulnerable children in the region.

WHAT IS CHURCH PARTNERSHIP?

DSC02219.jpg

Church partnership is a complementary relationship between two churches guided by a common vision and sustained by an equal willingness to learn, serve, grow, and extend grace to one another under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Church partnership is not a one way street.

Local churches around the world know their communities better than anyone else and already have the people and basic infrastructure in place for outreach into their surrounding neighborhoods.

Our role in the partnership is to support the Home Based Care program and meet the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs of families that are already caring for orphaned and vulnerable children in the community.

WHY ORPHANS?

In a world faced with extreme poverty, disease, starvation, human trafficking, and the exploitation of child soldiers there is one common link—the Orphan. The most recent estimate shows there are approximately 150 million orphans in the world.

They are children of disease, children of abuse, and children of apparent hopelessness. Yet, they are also children of promise, children with names, and children of God. Over forty times in Scripture, God speaks of His love for orphans.

What better way to tap into the heart of God than to care for the downtrodden by defending the cause of orphaned and vulnerable children?

ABOUT MONTE ALTO

Monte-Alto.jpg

Monte Alto is located in Zone 18 of Guatemala City, which is one of the most dangerous locations in all of Guatemala due to a high volume of gang activity and political corruption.

The church is lead by Pastor Hector Recinos and his wife, Araceli. Pastor Hector has dedicated himself to over 20 years of ministry experience. He and his wife have poured their lives into the work of the church, spreading the Gospel, and caring for the families in their community. Monte Alto has commited themselves to the care of orphans and vulnerable children in Zone 18.

PRAY

One of the easiest, but most powerful, ways you can get involved in our church partnership is to commit it to prayer. The only way this church partnership will continue to be a success is with God's intervention. So join us in prayer!

DONATE

Part of our role in the church partnership is assisting in funding the incredible work that Monte Alto is already doing with orphans in Guatemala. By donating, you are directly contributing to the care of orphans and helping Monte Alto be a beacon of hope for children who need it most.
